- 12:00 PM – Lounge Opens - Welcome to MagicCon First Look Thursday!
- 12:00 PM – Black Lotus MagicCon: Amsterdam Sealed Event League Product Pick-up and Play begins
- Black Lotus Progressive Sealed Event: Starting on Thursday, pick up 4 packs of Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes play boosters and build a 40-card deck. Play at least 2 games each day, Friday through Sunday, to add an additional Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes Collector Booster to your pool the following day. Playing 6 games will earn you additional boosters on Sunday. The final chance to claim any booster prizes earned is Sunday at 5:00pm. Look out for Wizards staff and special guests, playing and defeating them in the lounge could earn you additional prizes!
- 1:00 – 8:00 PM Black Lotus First Look + Behind the Card Frame – A content series for Black Lotus VIPs
- Given Black Lotus feedback gathered during 2025, First Look Activities will be consolidated at the MagicCon venue. We received lots of feedback about what folks are looking for as part of First Look Thursday. Behind the Card Frame content will be run in the Showcase Panel room (Atrium 1) at MagicCon: Amsterdam
- 1:00 – 1:30 PM – Welcome to MagicCon: Amsterdam and the Black Lotus Lounge
- 2:00 – 2:45 PM – Magic Story Podcast Presents - Mirrodin Pure: The Magic Set That Never Was
- During the release of the Scars of Mirrodin block, Wizards revealed that the story would follow the war between Mirrodin and New Phyrexia. The first set, Scars of Mirrodin, told the story of the war's start. The second set, Mirrodin Beseiged, established New Phyrexia as a major threat. But the final set, which would reveal the war's victor, would go by one of two names. The set would either be "New Phyrexia" or "Mirrodin Pure."
- We know how our timeline went: New Phyrexia won, nearly wiped out the Mirran resistance, and became a plane-spanning threat. But what if things hadn't gone that way? This is a chance to spotlight the worldbuilding of a "lost" plane, highlighting it as a "What If?"

- Join us for an inside conversation with Art Directors of Magic: The Gathering. Three of the game’s art directors sit down to pull back the curtain on what it takes to shape the visual identity of Magic: from briefing artists and building worlds, to navigating the tension between creative vision and production reality.

- Join us for a look at some of the iconic decks in Magic history as we break them down over time as they evolved from their first iteration to more modern versions played today.

- Join the Casual Play Design team to create a new plane for this exclusive Black Lotus VIP event that will debut at a future MagicCon. Bring your ideas and hone your design skills in this interactive session!

- Join members of Wizards of the Coast & Special Guests during this casual mixer. Have a chat, grab a signature, or discuss game strategy and design. This is your time to socialize with the makers of the world’s best card game! Light food and 2 drink tickets provided and a no-host bar.

- Ever wonder what Mark Rosewater does on those drives to work when he hits a red light? Thinks up trivia questions! Host Matt Tabak invites special guest Mark Rosewater to field your questions about Magic, and we'll also have questions of our own! It's a Q&A and A&Q. Do well and there may be some Black Lotus VIP first looks!
- Be part of a play test! Sign up for the MagicCon: Amsterdam MEGA GAME! This event is run once each day for 30 people over 3 hours. Space is very limited and pre-registration is required. A sign up link will be posted in the Black Lotus Discord on July 10 2026. The form will accept sign ups until each spot is full. Keep an eye on the Discord Channel for further information!

- It’s time for maximum CHAOS! Help celebrate the release of Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes by bringing a Commander Deck, hero/villain themed or otherwise to the fray. In this free-for-all Magic: The Gathering variant, each player is a Super Villain (Archenemy). Everyone starts with 40 life and uses a 10+ card scheme deck, activating one scheme at the start of their main phase. Who will be the last player standing? Commander Deck required and three additional Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes play boosters will be provided to modify your deck as needed.

- Planechase Unknown: Inspired by Gavin Verhey’s Unknown sealed event, the Casual Play Design team continues to bring you wacky and fun MagicCon themed Planechase cards. VIPs will each take home 5 assorted playtest planes and a MagicCon themed planar die in addition to getting to play Planechase Commander with the aforementioned groups.

The last draft will fire at 4:00 PM regardless of the number of participants. There are no pairings or prizes, but don’t miss your chance to play against Wizards for a chance at extra boosters.

As a Black Lotus VIP badge holder, you’ll have exclusive access to an online early shopping window. Pre-order your favorite items before the show and we’ll package them for you for easy pick up onsite.
- Where product transaction limits per day are in place, Black Lotus VIP attendees will be able to purchase a full-weekend allocation of product at one time to remove the need to return to the store.

Simplified First Look Experience
All First Look activities will take place right at the venue, no need to dash between locations! We loved trialing our Thursday Black Lotus VIP experience in 2025, and it is now a standard part of the badge package going forward.
Black Lotus Meet & Greets
Black Lotus Members will have access to exclusive Meet & Greets with select special guests. Talent and time to be announced at a later date.

The Black Lotus VIP Lounge is located in the Europe Foyer on the ground level.
Unfortunately, once badges are sold out, they are gone.
All your VIP Merch is available for pick up in the Black Lotus Lounge all weekend long.
Yes! You may pick up your 4 play boosters any time during MagicCon: Amsterdam show hours, including the Black Lotus early access on Thursday.
Access to any parties or other off-site/after-hour events, and ticketed play events is not included in your badge. You will be able to purchase these separately via your Leap account. More information regarding off-site/after-hour events will be available closer to the show.
